Fagus sylvatica 'Tortuosa Purpurea' Size:1 gal size 4-7 inches tallAlways asked about in our gardens, this shrubby Beach 'Tortuosa Purpurea' has almost pure black leaves throughout summer and into the fall, when they begin to turn black red. When light colored foliage plants are positioned in front of this magnificent plant, the effect is startling. Grasses like 'Evergold' will really 'pop' when planted in front of this Beech. Rarely available, but now we have a few. I have listed this plant in our 'tree' catagory
