Originally built in 1917, the existing bridge is actually a replica of the original and was built in the Early 1980s. It spans the Rideau Canal between Pretoria Avenue and Hawthorne Avenue. It was an August afternoon

Just walking along the sidewalk by my place in October and I saw a leaf lying alone on the pavement

and this tiny thing wasn't even breaking a sweat - not that birds can sweat - anyhow
