Ellis 1910, which sounds like an English name. Maybe he was travelling in Italy at the time. Judging by the label on the rear of the frame, maybe F. Ellis was a Derbyshire artist? Mounted in a simple gilt wooden frame, so as not to detract from the very appealing subject
