RD1 Sister Cities Whiskey Finished w/ Japanese Mizunara & French Oak Fortified WineRD1's vision for this Limited Release was to balance the sweet sophistication of the French Oak with the woodsy nature of Mizunara in a well aged Bourbon and Rye. They started with the French Oak, which they wanted to heavily influence the bourbon. After the barrels had aged for five years, they inserted medium toasted French Oak wood necklaces into the original American White Oak barrels, allowing it to rest for twice as long as their portfolio
